3D Internet goes mobile

At the 3GSM 2007 World Congress in Barcelona NVidia showed an new 3D Desktop for mobile phones. It is based on the new NVIDIA GoForce mobil chip series and on the OpenKODE project.

OpenKODE is a royalty-free, cross-platform standard that combines a set of native APIs into a comprehensive media stack specification for accelerating mobile 3D applications.

It looks like with this new graphic card generation it will be easily possible to bring 3D Internet to the mobile phones. Already a company is porting the Second Life client for java mobile phones and the other platforms will follow soon.
