Free Earth - Flash based 3D earth

Free Earth is a nice Flash based web application that looks like Google Earth. It has less functions then GE but it has the advantage to save the download. Also the API looks very interesting.

This is a really amazing invention. Maybe solving one of the biggest problems we have today. Also look at other videos proving this new invention on Youtube. The inventor has been murdered, but many companies are working now on this technology.
Also it looks like it is an simple process.

Youtubedesktop.com . YTD offers a nice way of find new videos on youtube. Also it is possible to download YouTube videos in diffrent formats like avi or mp4. They are still in Beta but already the site looks very promising. Just register for their beta and try it out.

There are not too many great animation tools out there. Most good 3D animators cost 1000+ US$. Fragmotion is a great tool at a very good price of 25 US$.
It is a pretty complex for beginners but good for advanced users.

Asus Bamboo Notebook

Asus is developing a fascinating new notebook using bamboo for parts of the notebook. That idea shows that there are a lot possibilities to produce more nature friendly technology. Also there are other Eco ideas implemented. You can use a button to adjust the performance of the laptop. The PowerGear button will glow red or green depending on the setting you have it on.

We think this is a great step forward for more green notebooks and hope that more companies develope stuff like this.

Big Brother on airplanes

Scientists from Britain and Germany develop a system they hope will make flights more secure by bringing Big Brother also to airplanes. Tiny cameras the size of a fingernail linked to specialist computers will be used to monitor the behaviour of airline passengers as part of the war on terrorism.
Fitted to seat-backs, the cameras will record every twitch or suspiciohttp://www2.blogger.com/img/gl.link.gifus movement before sending the data to onboard software that will check it against individual passenger profiles.

It sounds like "1984" is already really outdated. Maybe someone should write another updated version of this book.

3D Internet goes mobile

At the 3GSM 2007 World Congress in Barcelona NVidia showed an new 3D Desktop for mobile phones. It is based on the new NVIDIA GoForce mobil chip series and on the OpenKODE project.

OpenKODE is a royalty-free, cross-platform standard that combines a set of native APIs into a comprehensive media stack specification for accelerating mobile 3D applications.

It looks like with this new graphic card generation it will be easily possible to bring 3D Internet to the mobile phones. Already a company is porting the Second Life client for java mobile phones and the other platforms will follow soon.
